Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement presented at the time of booking or vehicle pickup. This document outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To hire a vehicle in Bradford, you must be at least 21 years old, although age requirements may differ based on vehicle type, with potential extra fees for drivers under 25. A valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. Please present valid identification and proof of your current address. You will also need to provide valid payment information along with a security deposit, and comply with any other requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Bradford office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are usually payable upon vehicle pick-up. All fees are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle in Bradford, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and both parties will sign it. You are expected to return the vehicle in the same condition as when it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at the start of your rental, as refueling charges will apply if the fuel level is lower. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless additional coverage applies. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse is your responsibility, irrespective of insurance.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for illegal activities or purposes. Activities such as racing, off-roading, or any hazardous driving are prohibited. Transporting dangerous materials is also not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited. The vehicle should not exceed its specified passenger or weight limits. Additionally, driving outside the agreed geographical area requires prior authorization.
Violation of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Bradford is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, related to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount paid in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Legal Framework
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this region.
10. Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
